Glen Celtic AFC 

Well done to our Senior team who defeated Ballymoe B last weekend for their third consecutive league win.  Final score 0-1 with Michael Geraghty heading the ball to the net.  Next match is at home to Manor Utd.

Hard luck to our U11 Champions team who lost out on penalties in their Division cup semifinal match. Futsal for boys and girls will start up on Wednesday 10th Oct for National school kids – 1st & 2nd class 6 to 7; 3rd & 4th class 7 to 8; 5th & 6th class 8 to 9.

Secondary school will start on Thursday 11th Oct – 1st, 2nd & 3rd year 6 to 7:30; 4th year and up 7:30 to 9. Don’t forget to call to see us at the Glenamaddy District Ploughing & Agricultural Show on Sunday next.

Also, don’t forget to put the 12th October in your diary for Glen Celtic fund raising quiz night in Jim Petes in Glenamaddy.

 

Kilkerrin United 

Hard luck to our U14 girls who lost out to Two Mile Borris St. Kevin’s in Sunday’s FAI Cup tie in Kilkerrin. Despite the 2-1 defeat, Kilkerrin played some outstanding soccer having lots of shots on goal. St. Kevin’s keeper pulled off some terrific saves. Goal scorer for Kilkerrin was Niamh Feeney.

There were mixed fortunes for our U11 boys on Friday evening. Despite a great performance the Europa boys lost 4-1 to Lough Harps. Eoin Morrissey with the goal. The Champions team had a good 5-1 win over Ballaghadereen FC thanks to goals from Enda Keane (3), Tomás Lee & Luke Walsh.

U14 Boys Cup had an impressive 5-2 win over Glen Celtic in the RDYSL Division Two Cup Semi Final with Darragh Lyons (2), Ronan Mullin, Oisín Keane & Daniel Stephens on target.

Hard luck to our U16 boys who lost out to CP Ajax in the RDYSL Division Two Cup Final in Kilkerrin. Despite falling 3-0 behind early on Kilkerrin battled gamely. Cian Carton’s second half goal gave the team a lift but CP Ajax ran out 4-1 winners.

Well done to all the players and management on a great effort and congratulations to CP Ajax on their victory.

Last week’s RDFL lotto number were 1, 4, 16 & 26. There was no jackpot winner.

Congratulations to Frank and Norah Rushe & family on the birth and baptism of baby Donnacha.

Sympathies are extended to the Finnegan family on the passing of Jimmy Finnegan, Mohill, Co. Leitrim. May he rest in peace.

 

Kilkerrin/Clonberne Ladies Football 

Seniors had a hard battle with Claregalway in Annaghdown at the weekend to secure their place in the final next Saturday against Corofin.
Final score KC 2:14 – 1:06 Claregalway.

Galway LGFA County Finals Saturday 6th October 
Senior – Corofin vs Kilkerrin Clonberne 
In Moycullen at 3pm.
Intermediate – St. Brendan’s vs Tuam Cortoon
Junior A – NA Leitimoir vs St. Mary’s.

U14s had a draw with Caltra, replay to be fixed.
