Boil water notice for 3,000 properties in Glenamaddy & Dunmore area

A Boil Water Notice has been issued for over 3,000 homes and businesses in the Dunmore and Glenamaddy areas due to issues at the water treatment plant.

Uisce Éireann has issued the boil water notice for approximately 2,134 customers on the Dunmore-Glenamaddy Public Water Supply, and another 896 customers on the Glenamaddy Public Water Supply.

This has been done due to operational issued at the Gortgarrow Water Treatment Plant.

People affected by this notice are advised to boil water before drinking, preparing food, brushing teeth, making ice and washing salads or other foods that are not cooked prior to consumption.

You can see if you home is affected by visiting the Water Quality Section of Uisce Éireann’s website and entering their Eircode or by contacting Uisce Éireann’s customer care team, available on 1800 278 278.

Providing an update, Uisce Éireann’s Ger Greally, explained, “We know how important a safe and reliable water supply is to everyday life and we understand the inconvenience this notice will cause our impacted customers.”

“Protecting public health is always our top priority. Our teams are on the ground doing everything possible to resolve the issue and restore normal water quality as quickly as possible. We would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation while this notice is in place.”
