A man is due before court this morning in connection with stalking a female politician in the north west of Ireland.
Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s on Thursday following an investigation into a complaint made by a female public representative.
The man in question was detained on Thursday for an alleged offence contrary to Section 10(1) of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 as amended by Section 23 of the Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023.
He has since been charged by Gardaí in connection with this investigation.
The man is due to appear before Galway District Court this morning Friday, June 7, 2024.
