Free bulky household waste collection tomorrow

Galway County Council is holding a free bulky household waste collection in Gort tomorrow.

On Saturday, from 10am to 1pm, county householders can dispose of large items of household waste at Gort Mart for free.

Items that people can drop off include couches and other furniture, rolls of carpet etc. However only four items can be brought per household.

Other garbage such as electrical or hazardous waste will not be accepted, nor will large bags of rubbish, or commercial operators.

Proof of address and waste collection service may be required for rubbish to be accepted.

People are advised that this collection has a limited capacity, so the event may fill up before 1pm.
