LISTEN: “The Biggest Occasion in Connacht” – LIAM McDONAGH

Galway face Mayo in the Connacht Senior Ladies Football Final this Sunday (24th June) as part of a double header with Roscommon verses Sligo who meet in the intermediate decider at 2pm.

The provincial finals have become a major sporting occasion in recent years with the curtain raiser providing as much excitement as the clash between the two senior rivals.

With Ladies Football enjoying a surge in popularity following their record breaking 46,000+ attendance at the 2017 All-Ireland Finals in Croke Park, a bumper crowd is expected to descend on Castlebar.

Connacth LGFA President Liam McDonagh described it as “the biggest occasion in Connacht” and chatted to Galway Daily before the double header.

Galway take on Mayo in the 2018 Connacht Senior Ladies Football Final on Sunday, 24th June.  Throw-in at MacHale Park, Castlebar is 4pm.
