GALWAY LGFA: 2018 Galway Daily Senior Player of the Year

Galway LGFA

After a progressive season, Galway’s senior ladies football team found Dublin too strong last Saturday (25th August) as their championship finished at the semi-final stage.

It was a year where they successfully retained the Connacht title, beat Mayo twice and established themselves as a ‘top four’ outfit making the league and All-Ireland semi-finals.

While their first half display against the Metropolitans was disappointing, they went down fighting putting in a gallant second 30 minutes but the margin was always going to be difficult to peg back.

To mark the end, we will be running a three-round twitter poll competition on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to decide the 2018 Galway Daily Senior Ladies Footballer of the Year.

On Monday (August 27th our selected 20 players will go into five groups containing four players each.  The top two from each qualify for the next round along with the two best third placed players.

On Tuesday (August 28th), the remaining 12 players will compete in the semi-finals with four groups containing three players each.  The winners from each section advance.

And on Wednesday (August 29th), the final four will be in the final where our readers will decide who is the 2018 Galway Daily Senior Ladies Footballer of the Year.

Any ties will be decided by our adjudication panel.  All you need to do is log into (and like) our twitter page and like your favourite player in each section each day.  It’s that simple.  Each poll will last for 15 hours.

The posts below will show the first-round draw and we will have winners each day along with the overall results on Thursday (30th August).  Best of luck to all players!
