Work is still ongoing this evening to repair a burst water main on the Tuam road which is causing outages nearby and in Bohermore.

The water main burst around 3am this morning according to Irish Water, and work has been ongoing to repair the damage since 9am.

Repair works have yet to be completed, and traffic management on the Tuam Road will remain in place this evening.

Currently the repair work is expected to be completed by 7pm this evening.

Residents living on the Tuam Road, as well as homes and businesses in Bohermore, Mervue Business Park, Mervue, Riverside, and Liosban Industrial Estate may experience outages while work is ongoing.

People are advised that it may take 2 – 3 hours after repairs have been completed for their full water supply to be restored.

This is once of two burst mains on the Tuam Road today, after repairs were completed shortly before 4pm to a burst pipe in Glenanail.

Another burst pipe in Devon Park in Salthill was also repaired at roughly the same time.
