Councillor Aisling Dolan to stand for Fine Gael in general election

Formerly independent county councillor for Ballinasloe Aisling Dolan has joined Fine Gael and will be standing for them in the next general election.

Counillor Dolan will be contesting the Roscommon-Galway constituency, which her council district of Ballinasloe straddles, for Fine Gael alongside Senator Maura Hopkins when a general election comes around.

She said that as a candidate for Fine Gael she will focus on healthcare, including investment in Portiuncula hospital, increasing investment in the region, protecting the environment, and “making this a place really a place to live for our families, or community, and the next generation”.

Councillor Dolan added that she is delighted to have the chance to go and represent this area at a national level.
