Five days of roadworks at Oughterard to cause delays

Traffic delays can be expected on the N59 from tomorrow as a week’s worth of roadworks get underway at Oughterard.

Resurfacing roadworks are being done on a stretch of road out from Oughterard village towards Oughterard Golf Club.

Work will take place each day from 9am to 6:30pm starting on Monday, February 25 until Friday March 1.

A stop and go system will be in place to manage traffic during the day for the duration of the works.

Galway county council has advised anyone who’ll be travelling on the N59 next week to give themselves extra time to allow for congestion.
