Gardaí investigate Dyke road collision that leaves two pedestrians seriously injured

Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision on the Dyke road this morning that has left two pedestrians in their 50s with serious injuries.

The single-vehicle incident took place at the Black Box Theatre on the Dyke road at 8:30 this morning.

In the hours since then there has been no access from the Headford road junction on, but the road has recently re-opened.

Two pedestrians, a man and a woman in their 50s, were taken from the scene to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured in the crash.

Gardaí spent the morning conducting a technical examination of the scene, but the road has now re-opened to traffic.
