Galway County Council awarded €1 million additional funding for districts

Galway County Council has been awarded €1 million in additional funding to be divided among the county’s municipal districts.

The funding was signed off on by Minister for Housing and Local Government Darragh O’Brien this week.

Each of the five county council municipal districts will receive €200,000 from the once off funding boost.

Galway East TD Seán Canney says this funding forms part of their discretionary budget, as opposed to being for balancing the books.

“I am delighted to see the Municipal Districts benefit in this way and will provide for additional projects to be delivered in the Districts.”
