Galway Centre for Independent Living celebrates 25th anniversary

Galway Centre for Independent Living is celebrating 25 years of empowering people to live their lives to the fullest.

For the past quarter century the Centre for Independent Living has been providing accessible transport, home care, and personal assistance who just need a hand to help them stay a full part of society.

Based out of Briarhill Business Park, the Galway Centre for Independent Living provides professional services to help people of every age and need stay in their own home without discrimination.

The celebrate this milestone event the non-profit is holding a screening of My Left Foot at Pálás Cinema.

An Oscar-nominated biopic starring the legendary Daniel Day-Lewis, My Left Foot tells the story of real-life artist, writer, and cerebral palsy sufferer Christy Brown.

Despite being confined to a wheelchair with little use of his limbs for his entire life, Brown taught himself to write and draw using the only limb he could control, his left leg.

This anniversary film screening will take place on Sunday, January 13 at 11:30am at the Pálás Cinema on Merchants Road.

There are a number of free tickets available through through a free draw for people who like and share the event’s Facebook post.

Otherwise tickets are just €2.50 at the Pálás or €3 if you book online.
