A public information day will be held later this month to provide information on the Clifden Flood Relief Scheme under development.

Jacobs Engineering Ireland have been appointed by the county council and OPW to devise a flood relief scheme for Clifden.

The project is currently at Stage 1: Scheme Assessment, Development, and Design.

The town has repeatedly been affected by heavy flooding. The most serious recent event came in September of 2020, when heavy rain caused the Owenglen River to burst its banks.

A Public Information Day event on the will be held on April 20 between 1pm and 7pm in the Clifden Station House Hotel.

Galway County Council is inviting feedback from members of the public and interested stakeholders on the development of a flood relief scheme.

Comments and feedback can be submitted at the Public Information Day to project representatives or through a feedback form provided at the information day.
