Two Galway United players have tested positive for Covid-19 and the entire first team squad and staff are restricting their movements while they await tests.

Their match against Drogheda this Friday night at Eamonn Deacy Park has been postponed.

“Galway United will continue to follow all protocols relating to Covid-19 and the players will isolate for the required period of time,” the club said in a statement this afternoon.

The players are the first to test positive for the virus since the League of Ireland resumed in July.

A new date for the game against Drogheda has yet to be announced.
