There are just three people in hospital who are confirmed to have COVID-19 in Galway as of Friday night.

The latest figures from the HSE show that there were three confirmed case at University Hospital Galway as of 8pm on Friday.

There are no confirmed cases at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, and just one suspected case, while there are a further five suspected cases at UHG.

Critically, the ICUs in Galway remain empty of any COVID cases.

There were just five new cases reported in Galway yesterday, and the county’s 14-day incidence rate has now fallen to 51.2 cases per 100,000 population.

Nationwide, there 235 confirmed hospitalisations of people with COVID-19, of whom 34 are in Intensive Care and 19 are on ventilators.
