There are just 13 COVID-19 patients in total hospitalised in Galway in the latest figures, as the slow but steady drop in numbers at UHG continues.
There were 12 confirmed cases at University Hospital Galway as of Tuesday night, and one more at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Four of the patients at University Hospital Galway are in the Intensive Care Unit, but there are no COVID patients in the ICU at Portiuncula.
UHG has seen its numbers fall drastically in past month, after an outbreak towards the end of August pushed it to over 30 cases hospitalised, and numbers remained high thereafter.
Since last weekend, the hospital has seen its case numbers drop continuously from 23 on Friday, down to almost half that number.
As of 8pm on Tuesday there were a total of 272 confirmed COVID cases in Irish hospitals, with 61 patients being treated in the ICU.
