Sixty artist-led organisations have been awarded funding which will help them to stay in business and develop programmes in the future.

Galway International Arts Festival and Galway Arts Centre will receive the largest allocations, of €46,000 and €35,000 respectively.

At its meeting this week, Galway City Council made the full arts budget available, as agreed before the pandemic.

The Council says that the city’s finances have been seriously affected by the crisis, but the funding status quo has been maintained, recognising of the importance of contemporary arts to the city.
