Galway Daily news 25 percent drop in COVID cases in Galway hospitals

Another 28 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Galway by health officials today, out of 545 cases nationwide.

There have also been an additional four deaths related to COVID-19 notified by nphet today.

The 14-day incidence rate in Galway is now 88.7 cases per 100,000 people, with 229 cases reported here in the past two weeks.

The median age of the cases reported today is 29 years old, and 77% of the cases are in people under the age of 45.

As of 8am this morning there are 139 people in Ireland hospitalised with COVID-19, of whom 44 are in the ICU. There have been 8 patients admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours.

There were 1,487,043 doses of vaccine administered in Ireland as of Wednesday, April 28, with 419,665 now fully vaccinated.
