Press Release Ronan & Friends, Bay to Bay 300KM Walk from Dingle to Galway for Charity..……… One of Ireland’s best-known charity fundraisers will put his best foot forward with some of his lifelong friends again this year, as he celebrates his 51st year and his 26th year working for various causes in Developing world with Gorta Self Help Africa Ronan Scully is using his 51st birthday in August to do what he does best too, as he aims to raise much needed funds for some worthy causes especially Self Help Africa, The Galway Rape Crisis Centre and a charity close to his heart, Rosabel's Rooms in partnership with the Irish Hospice Foundation who are all helping many families and children in need in Africa and Ireland with a week-long ‘Bay to Bay Walk’ from Dingle Bay in County Kerry up along the west coast to his home in Galway a mere 300KM's. The charity walk will enable him to celebrate two memorable milestones too, as he will also use the occasion to celebrate 26 years in the world of international development and charity. Having worked for a number of years with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, Ronan Scully then spent more than a decade in India, Nepal, Angola, Ethiopia, Kenya and Sierra Leone, and continues this work as business development coordinator in the West of Ireland with Gorta-Self Help Africa. The upcoming 300km trip is a sort of Irish Camino for Ronan and friends and will start from the parish church in Dingle on Sunday, 5th August next, and will conclude with a 5k charity walk on the promenade in Salthill, Galway, on Sunday afternoon at 3pm on the 12th August. All are welcome to join him at the Claddagh Hall in Galway on the 12th of August at 3pm to walk the Salthill Prom for this event and register at the Claddagh hall that day for the 5km walk and make a donation of €15 towards the charities or whatever people can affo

Chun a bhreithlá a chéiliúradh i mí Lúnasa beidh Ronan Scully ag tabhairt fé siúlóid 300km chun airgead a bhailiú ar san cúiseanna éagsúla, Gorta Self Help Africa, The Galway Rape Crisis Centre agus cartharnacht atá cóngarach dá chroí féin, Rosabel’s Rooms i comhpáirtíocht leis an Irish Hospice Foundation.

Beidh sé ag tabhairt fé seachtain fada, ag siúlóid ó Bá go Bá ón Daingean, Co.Chiarraí suas an chósta iarthar ar fad go dtí a bhaile féin ins an Gaillimh, 300km ar fhad.

Ag tabhairt ómós dó siúd atá théis tacaíocht a thabhairt dó ina n-iarrachtaí thar na 26 bliain, dúirt Ronan Scully go dtabhairfidh an siúlóid trasna na tíre an deis dó buíochas a gabháil le mórchuid do dhaoine a thacaigh leis ina chuid oibre le chuid dos na daoine is boichte, clainne agus gasúr ar ár bplainéad.

“Táim ag féachaint air an siúlóid seo ar nós aistear urnaitheach agus céiliúradh ar mo cloch mhíle féin, an t-am a chaitheas ag oibriú do catharnacht agus freisin an méid sin daoine docreidte gur bhuaileas leo thar na 26 bhliain.

“Thug siad ana chuid dóibh chun cabhrú leo siúd mórthimpeall an domhan a raibh cabhair ag teastáil,” a dúirt Ronan.

“Daoine fíor cinéalta iad muintir na hÉireann. Braithim beannaithe agus  faoi pribhléid go bhfuilim ábalta déanamh seo agus fios a bheith agam go bhfuil an oiread san daoine théis a chuid ama a thabhairt, a chuid airgead a thabhairt agus a chuid iarrachtaí a thabhairt chun tacaíocht a thabhairt dos na cúiseanna seo.”

Beidh an turas 300km ag tosnú ó Seipéal an Paróiste sa Daingean ar an Domhnach 5ú Lúnasa agus críochnóidh sé le siúlóid catharnacht 5k ar an prom Bóthar na Trá, Gaillimh, tráthnóna Dé Domhnach at 3i.n. ar an 12ú Iúil.
