Met Eireann is forecasting the weather to see-saw this weekend with sunny spells on Saturday in between showers tonight and Sunday.

The weather will mellow headed into tonight with showers becoming more scattered, though Met Eireann have said there is a chance of the odd isolated thunderburst.

Lowest temperatures tonight of 5 to 8 degrees, in light to moderate variable winds.

Skies will clear headed into tomorrow for a mostly sunny day with some cloud cover, though some showers will persist, mainly in the west of Galway.

Highest temperatures tomorrow of 13 to 15 degrees with moderate variable winds.

Met Eireann is forecasting that the weather will break for the worse on Sunday, with sun giving way to cloudier skies.

Scattered showers will persist throughout the county becoming heavy at times in the mid afternoon and early evening.

Highest temperatures on Sunday of 12 to 14 degrees celsius and lows of 7 to 9 degrees.
