Galway is expected to get heavy rain and possible flooding today, with a status yellow weather warning in effect.
Met Eireann has issued a Yellow rain warning for Galway and Kerry, which will be in effect until 9pm tonight.
“Spells of heavy rain at times today may lead to localised flooding. Highest rainfall amounts in mountainous areas,” the alert states.
Further alerts may be issued throughout the week, as a weather advisory has been issued for the week up to 11pm this Friday.
It cautions that further spells of rain and showers will cause flooding due to waterlogged soil and high river levels this week.
