Galway Daily weather Mixed bag for Easter weekend weather as sunny start gives way to rain

After a cold week, Met Éireann’s weekend forecast for Galway is a mixed bag of sunshine, showers and some heavy rain.

Tonight will be cold again, but any lingering showers will make way for clear spells overnight. Temperatures will reach lows of 1 to 6 degrees, causing some grass frost in sheltered areas.

Tomorrow, Saturday, will be a bright day with sunny spells and just a few occasional showers. Cloud will build from the southwest late tomorrow evening though ahead of a band or more persistent rain moving in from the Atlantic.

Tomorrow’s temperatures will be around 8 or 9 degrees, but tomorrow night will see heavy rain at times and lowest temperatures between 1 and 5 degrees.

Sunday looks set to be another cold and miserable day with persistent rain. There will be heavy rain at times, and any brighter spells will be overshadowed by showers during the afternoon and evening, with some heavy bursts.

Highest temperatures will be between 9 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds and blustery showers continue into Sunday night, bringing a wet start to next week.
