UHG is the third most overcrowded Hospital in the country today according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The INMO’S daily Trolley/Ward Watch shows that there are 35 patients who are going without a proper bed today at UHG.

This is the third highest figure of Ireland’s acute hospitals today after UH Limerick (59) and Cork UH (50).

Back in Galway there are a further 11 people left on trolleys at Portiuncula Hospital in an unusually bad day for the Ballinasloe hospital.

In total there are 488 patients without a bed throughout all of Ireland’s hospitals today going by the INMO’S figures.
