Homes in parts of the west side of Galway City are experiencing water outages today due to a burst mains.

A burst mains pipe on the Letteragh Road was reported by Irish Water shortly after 10am this morning.

Repairs are underway, and are currently scheduled to take place until 5pm on Thursday afternoon.

The burst pipe, and repair works, may result in water outages and other supply disruptions to homes on Letteragh Road, Cnoc An Oir, Fort Lorenzo, Sliabh Rioga and surrounding areas of the city.

People affected by this are advised that it may take 2-3 hours after repairs are completed before their full supply is restored.

Updates can be found on Irish Water’s supply and service page, or through @IWCare on Twitter.
