US software company to create new jobs in Galway

The US based software group Sedgwick will be creating new jobs in Galway as part of a major expansion of its Irish offices.

The software company will be adding 250 new jobs to its Irish workforce which currently stands at 400.

These new positions will be spread around its seven offices in Ireland including Liosbain Business Park in Galway.

The software company is looking for people to fill positions in customer service, sales, claims, property, liability, accident and health insurance as well as corporate finance, technology and compliance.

Chief Executive of Sedgwick Ireland Malcolm Hughes said the new jobs creation is the result of “successful growth and performance of our Irish operation,” and the he expects this growth to continue.

“We see growth being driven by a strong pipeline of new business projects, responding to our growing client demands, and a demand for managed solutions in anticipation of Brexit,” he added.

Recruitment for the new positions will begin immediately and they will be filled out over the next two years.

Sedwick has secured a contract with Irish Life Health as one of its preferred service providers and will set up an office in Dublin to provide international services in IT and finance.

The US based company employs more than 21,000 staff across 65 countries providing services for the insurance industry.
