University Hospital Galway is the second most overcrowded in Ireland today, with 60 patients waiting on trolleys.

INMO Trolley/Ward Watch figures show 56 patients without a bed at the UHG emergency department this morning, and another four in the wards.

The only hospital more overcrowded today is Cork UH, where there are 70 patients on trolleys.

Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe is doing better, with two patients in the wards who do not have a bed.

Nationwide, there are 476 people in Irish hospitals who are waiting on trolleys today.
