Two men have lost their lives following a two-vehicle collision just before midnight last night.
The men (20s) were killed after a collision between their car and a truck on the Balla to Claremorris road (N60) at Facefield, Co. Mayo.
Their bodies were removed to mortuary at Mayo University Hospital. Post-mortems will take place in due course.
The driver of the truck (30s) was also taken to Mayo University Hospital as a precaution.
The road was closed this morning with local diversions in place. Garda Forensic Collision investigators will conduct their examination of the scene this morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
