Two men arrested in connection with city stabbing

Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that took place in the city centre in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A young man in his 20s was injured in a stabbing incident on Francis Street in the city centre at 3:30am on Wednesday.

Gardaí have said that two men also aged in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the incident.

They are currently being detained by gardaí under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act in Mill Street Garda Station.

The injured man was brought to University Hospital Galway yesterday with injuries that were described as serious, but not life threatening.
