There are lane lane closures in place on the M6 motorway in Galway today and tomorrow, while new signage is being installed.
The County Council has said that Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) are installing Variable Messaging Signs on the M6 in Galway this week.
The work is taking place on the motorway between Junction 14 East Ballinasloe and Junction 19 Oranmore.
To facilitate these works, rolling lane closures have been in place on Monday, and will continue today and Wednesday.
Tuesday, December 20
- M6 Eastbound – Lane 1 Closure between Junction 17 Athenry and Junction 16 Loughrea, from 8am to 2pm.
- M6 Westbound – Lane 1 Closure between Junction 16 Loughrea and Junction 17 Athenry, from 11am to 8pm on Tuesday 20th December.
Wednesday, December 21
- M6 Eastbound – Lane 1 Closure between Junction 16 Loughrea and Junction 15 West Ballinasloe, from 8am to 2pm
- M6 Westbound – Lane 1 Closure between Junction 14 East Ballinasloe and Junction 15 West Ballinasloe, from 11am to 8pm
Lane 2 on the motorway will remain open at all times during these works.
