Three free electronic waste collections in Galway this week

Three free collections of electronic waste for county householders will take place in Galway this week, over the space of two days.

The County Council is holding two free WEEE collections on Tuesday, with a third on Thursday, June 16.

The first two collections will take place in Kinvara and Woodford, in the morning and afternoon respectively, with Thursday’s collection in Portumna.

This is an opportunity for county households to get free recycling of anything with a plug or battery.

Any household waste electrical items, batteries, or energy saving lightbulbs will be accepted.

This extends to electronic waste of any size or shape, small items such as a phone or cables, or larger goods like a fridge or lawnmower.

The schedule of collections announced by the county council for this week is:

  • Kinvara – Tuesday 14th June 2022 at St. Colman’s Parish Church Car Park: 10am -1pm
  • Woodford – Tuesday 14th June 2022 at St. John the Baptist Church Car Park: 4pm -7pm
  • Portumna – Thursday 16th June 2022 at Portumna Co-operative Mart: 10am -4pm
