Broken pipes cause water outage in Galway city

Areas of Galway city are experiencing a water outage today due to a burst main.

A broken water main has been reported in the area of Taylor’s Hill causing a water outage to nearby neighbourhoods.

Residents of Taylors Hill, Mount Eaton, Ardmore and surrounding areas in the city may be without water while repairs are being done.

Irish Water have given an estimated time for work to be completed of 5pm this evening.

A traffic management plan will be in place while repairs works are taking place.

Residents are advised that it may take two to three hours after repairs are completed for full water supply to return.
