The search for missing 70 year old Galway man John Joyce has been stood down this evening following the discovery of a body.
Gardaí made a public appeal last Thursday for help locating the missing Joyce.
He had last been seen in the Rahoon area of Galway City on the night of Monday, May 31.
It is understood that this death is being treated as a personal tragedy.
