Galway Daily news Some traffic disruption is expected at the Galway-Roscommon county line today near Mountbellew due to roadworks taking place

There will be traffic delays on the N83 Dunmore to Tuam road north of Galway city for the foreseeable future as roadworks get underway.

The county council is instituting a traffic management plan for the affected area of road around the townland of Carrowmunniagh, also known as Twenty Minute Hill.

To facilitate putting this in place the road will be closed from 9:30am to 4:30pm on Wednesday, November 7.

The road will temporarily re-open to two way traffic from Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning.

After that a stop and go system will be in place for the foreseeable future to facilitate the works taking place.

There is no date given yet for when the roadworks can expect to be completed.
