Minor traffic delays are expected tomorrow and Tuesday on the N65 in Killimor as vital works are carried out.

Lagan Asphalt Ltd, acting on behalf of Galway County Council, will commence Road Resurfacing Overlay Works tomorrow, Monday, for a duration of two days on the N65 Heathlawn, Killimor.

The works are seen as vital as the section of road is on a busy route for motorists travelling between Portumna and Loughrea.

A temporary traffic management system will be in operation on this section of the N65 between the hours of 7.30 am and 6 pm.

Motorists on this road should allow additional time for their journeys.

Minsiter Ciaran Cannon said: “While these delays will cause some minor inconvenience, the work is vital as this is a busy route for motorists travelling between Portumna and Loughrea and all the more so at this time of year when people are shopping and visiting loved ones and friends.

“I therefore welcome this work and the contribution it will make to improved road safety conditions on the N65 for all users and in particular the local community.”
