Pedestrian in Christmas Eve traffic collision dies

A pedestrian who was hit by a car on Christmas Eve in Oughterard has since passed away.

The 52 year old woman was struck by a car while walking at Carrowmanagh, Oughterard at approximately 8:45pm on Christmas Eve night.

The woman was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway in critical condition, but passed away on Thursday.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, was uninjured in the incident.
