One man seriously injured after Oranmore traffic accident

One person was seriously injured in a road traffic accident near Oranmore yesterday evening.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a car that took place on the Oranmore to Craughwell road around 5pm on Wednesday.

A garda spokesperson said the driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, was taken to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.

The road was closed outside Orannore overnight and remains closed today while a forensic examination is taking place.

Traffic between Oranmore and Craughwell is being diverted via Claronbridge.
