We all love a good breakfast. And now we know exactly where to go for one!

Nox Hotel is just a mile from Eyre Square in Galway City Centre and last week it received a Highly Commended Irish Breakfast Award at the 2018 Georgina Campbell Irish Breakfast Awards in Dublin.

And a quick look at the video on their website shows visitors that they’re deadly serious about the breakfast served in Fork Restaurant.

The restaurant is designed as a meeting place for non-residents as well as hotel guests – and the tempting buffet display is, well, very tempting!

Celebrating the hotel’s award, owner Diane Burke shared her delight:

“Breakfast may be the most modest meal of the day, but it is also the most important. As a child I would have been told it gives you strength for the day, but from our experience of the hospitality industry it is clear that breakfast also sets up the kind of day an individual will have—a well sourced, carefully prepared and enjoyable breakfast allows for a happier, lighter, guest who is looking on the brighter side of life. This is why at Nox Hotel we strive to ensure each and every person who comes to our Hotel and our Fork Restaurant is served with the best of food and friendly smile.”

The Georgina Campbell Irish Breakfast Awards showcases the stellar standards of Irish food and hospitality industries, and to link the best Irish food producers with those who prepare and serve food to the public.

Georgina Campbell’s rigorous programme of anonymous assessment visits takes place throughout the year and the resulting reports are then fed through to the respected independent website, Ireland-guide.com. Award winners are nominated solely by the assessment team.

At the awards Georgina also paid tribute to the Galway – West of Ireland European Region of Gastronomy 2018 designation, saying: “This recognition is very well deserved – and, as shown by our Awards, standards of food and hospitality are exceptionally high in this stunningly beautiful region.”

Also Highly Commended for the brunch category at the the awards was Gather Restaurant, Co Galway, while Currarevagh House in Oughterard won ‘Best Welcome Standard’. Connemara Smokehouse, Ballyconneely, Co Galway also won for its outstanding fish.
