Plans have been submitted to the county council to convert the former Glynn’s Hotel in Gort into office and apartment space.

Planning permission had previously been granted in 2008 to convert the old hotel into a café at the ground floor, with a restaurant on the first floor, and a therapy centre and offices at the top floor.

Now the developer is seeking approval to change the use of the 1st floor of the building at the corner of George St and Queen St, Gort from restaurant to office space.

Permission is also being sought to convert the top floor office space to apartments, as well as retain changes already made to the therapy centre to convert it to apartment space.

Galway County Council is due to make a decision on this planning application by December 12.
