N84 roadworks starting next week to last several months

Roadworks on the N84 north of Galway city will cause traffic delays starting next week for several months.

The works starting on Monday, September 24 will take place on two stretches of the N84 at Bunnaconeen and Balrickard.

500m of road at Balrickard and 1,150m at Bunnaconeen will have a layer of the surface removed and replaced.

Other works taking place will involve road marking and site drainage.

According to Galway County Council they will take approximately three months to complete.

The contract for the works was awarded to McGrath Limestone Works ltd based out of Cong, Co. Mayo.

A traffic management plan for the affected stretches of the N84 will be in place while works are being carried out.
