More time granted for renovations to Monivea Football Club

An extension of duration has been granted to planning permission for renovations to Monivea/Abbeyknockmoy Football Club.

The football club had sought more time to upgrade their existing floodlighting system and to install a new running track at the club in Glennagloghaun North.

Planning permission had originally been granted for this development on June 2, 2014 and expires this year.

However the application for an extension of duration states that work was not able to proceed due to the “economic climate” and a lack of club funds.

It is now expected that work will commence on the new track and lighting upgrades by May 2020.

No submissions were made to the county council about this application, and county planners raised no objection either.

Planning permission for the club renovations has now been extended to March 31, 2024.
