Miserable night in store as yellow weather warning issued

Expect a blustery night for anyone out this evening as yet another yellow weather warning has been issued for Galway and the west of Ireland.

A yellow wind warning has been issued for all of Connacht including Galway, as well as Cavan, Donegal, Clare, Kerry and Limerick.

Heavy winds are expected on Thursday night with average wind speeds of 55-65km/hr and gusts of up to 90-100km/hr.

But Met Éireann are advising that those wind strengths may be upgraded for a period on Thursday night.

The weather warning will come into effect at 10pm on Thursday and last last until 9am on Friday morning.

Craft on the water are also being advised that South to southwest winds will increase to force 6 or 7 on Thursday.
