Man dies after tragic incident in Galway Bay this afternoon

A fisherman has died following a tragic incident in Galway Bay at lunchtime this afternoon.
The man was rescued from a fishing boat by Galway RNLI after the boat got into difficulty, and he was brought back to the docks before being was transferred to UHG by ambulance.
The alarm was raised at lunchtime by a man on board the fishing vessel, which was located at the time between Blackrock and Silverstrand.
The man comes from a well-known fishing family, however his name has not yet been revealed as not all of his family members have been informed.
