Leak repairs to cause two day disruption to Portumna water network

Galway daily news Water outages in multiple areas of Galway due to burst mains

People living in the Portumna area will experience disruptions to their water supply for two days week as work is carried out on the local network.

Irish Water will be carrying out leak detection works in Portumna on Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9.

Work will take place from 10am to 4pm each day and may cause water outages in multiple neighbourhoods.

Homes and businesses in Kilimor, Heathlawn, Ballynaheskeragh, Cooldorragha, Capira, Derradda South, Thornfiels, Ballynew, Curraghmore, Cloghatanna, Deer Park, Attigara and Portumna may lose their water supply during the day.

The Gortnanummera Group Water Scheme will also be affected Irish Water have said.

Affected homes and businesses are advised it may take 2 – 3 hours after work finishes before the full supply is restored.
