Planning permission sought for Headford housing estate

Galway Daily news A fresh planning application has been made for the construction of 148 homes on the east side of Galway City.

Planning permission is being sought for the construction of housing estate of 56 homes at Eallagh in Headford town.

Callanan & Walsh Construction Co. Ltd are seeking approval for a residential development on a 1.9ha site to the east of the existing Eallagh estate.

This would comprise 6 two-bedroom, terraced bungalows; 20 four-bedroom, semi-detached houses; 22 three-bedroom, semi-detached houses; and 8 three-bedroom, terraced houses.

Two new entry and exit points for pedestrians and vehicles would be created off the existing Eallagh estate access roads.

A landscaped open green area with a playground would be located in the centre of the new housing estate.

The estate will have 1.5 parking spaces per bungalow, and two parking spaces each for all of the other houses on their sites.

Galway County Council is due to make a decision on this planning application by February 18.
