UHG second most overcrowded in Ireland again today

Only University Hospital Limerick is more overcrowded than University Hospital Galway again today, despite both hospitals recording a slight decrease in their trolley figures.

There are 46 people waiting for a bed at UHG as of Thursday morning according to data released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe also had eight patients on trolleys when the data was taken.

The worst affected hospital in the country, UH Limerick, has eighty-nine patients awaiting a bed despite a decrease of 9 since yesterday.

Nationally 368 people were on trolleys in hospitals today, according to the INMO figures.

After UHG, Cork University Hospital has the next highest number of people on trolleys with 34 followed by Sligo University Hospital (32).
