Eight community groups in Galway City working in a variety of different areas have been awarded just under €20,000 in grant funding.

The Department of Rural and Community Development have this week approved grants totaling €19,806 to a range of Social Enterprises in Galway City.

This funding is meant to help these groups with repairs and renovations, new equipment and safety upgrades.

The announcement of the specific organisations awarded grants comes after Minister Health Humphreys announced €1 million in funding for the Social Enterprise Capital Grants Scheme 2021 back in September.

The funding for the Social Enterprise Capital Grants Scheme 2021 is administered locally by the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).
