A restaurant in Galway’s Westend has been named as the best Traditional Irish Restaurant of the Year at this year’s Food Awards Ireland.

Dela Restaurant on Dominic Street took home the coveted prize at the awards ceremony in Dublin which saw restaurants from across Ireland compete in multiple categories.

Dela has become a popular place to brunch at the weekend in Galway, and is famous for their creative egg dishes, the brunch burrito, buttermilk pancakes and it has a broad range of veggie and vegan options.

Even though organic produce is more expensive, Dela Restaurant has been able to create a menu that is casual and more than affordable.

They’ve done this by taking out the middle man and growing their own in their 3,000 square foot polytunnel at the Dela Farm in Moycullen.

The Dela Farm has been supplying the restaurant with in season produce since early 2017.

It is located in Moycullen, 10km away from the Dela kitchen.
