The final list of candidates who will be contesting for a seat on Galway city council in the local elections this month is in.
There are 48 candidates running for a seat on the city council, up from 38 in the previous local elections.
There are six seats available in each of the city’s east, west, and central wards. 16 candidates each are contesting Galway city central and east, while 15 people are running in the west ward.
