Galway Urban Greenway Alliance will host its regular monthly family-friendly cycle this weekend to  highlight the need for an urban greenway through Salthill on to Barna.

Families, students, community groups, and people of all ages and abilities are invited to join in at one of three departure points in the city on Sunday morning, 31 October.

The departure points are 10.15am from the Maldron Hotel off Headford Road with the East of the Corrib Cycle-Bus, 10.30am from McGrath’s Field, Knocknacarra with the Galway Cycle-Bus, and 11.00am from the Claddagh Hall.

As it is Halloween, Galway Urban Greenway Alliance has asked people to come dressed in their best fancy dress outfit for a fun, safe and spooky cycle around Salthill, including part of the proposed interim Salthill Cycleway route from the junction of Grattan Road to Blackrock.

Three hundred people joined each of the two most recent community cycles last month, one in fabulous sunshine and the other in lashing rain.
