Galway Daily education Extension plans submitted for Clifden Community School

Plans are under consideration for an expansion of Clifden Community Community to provide special needs education facilities.

A planning application has been made to build a single storey extension to the west of the existing secondary school.

The 578sqm extension will be used to provide additional classrooms for special needs education.

The extension will also include a glazed link corridor/room connecting with the existing school, and to the school yard.

Minor alterations will be made to parts of the existing school building to provide new fire escape doors.

Galway County Council is due to make a decision on this planning application by August 29,
